Supplying Military Units from the Air
An airlifted military units (and in fact all other units), may request supplies to be delivered by air, and dropped at any location from transport aircraft. This can take place with flights coming from air bases in the country of origin but such supplies will be slow and very costly. It will be more efficient to deliver supply to local depots and use supply units to distribute the materials.
Supply by air can take place. It is slow and expensive because in most cases, flights originate far away and 75% of the supplies are lost in the dropping, making the process ineffective.
