Military Reservists?

Simcountry: Simcountry Bulletin Board  Military Reservists?

About a year ago I suggested the concept of allowing military reservists, in which a country could purchase large amounts of ordinance but not have to put it all into active service.

A minimal staff would be needed to keep it operational and secured until it was activated, which would take a bit of time. Potentially, they wouldn't fight as well as full-time soldiers, at least not at first.

This would allow a country to have the capability of defending itself without having to keep the military up to full strength at all times.

The game notes make mention of the fact that a military reservist feature is going to be added. Anyone heard when?

How many of you would like to be able to stockpile military weaponry without having to fully staff it except in times of war?

Wouldn't this make peaceful countries much more secure? They could have plenty of guns without having to man them all the time, only when they were attacked!

From an attacker's point of view, they could stockpile multiple weapons and mobilize them as needed, without having to tie up their full manpower except when needed.

Since no one else seems willing to say something, I´ll say what I think:
I like it.

They talked about it, but did not yet do anything to institute the proposal. Instead they messed around with weapons manpower requirements...
