I just started playing after nearly a year away from the game and am attacking my first computer-controlled-country (c3) this time around.

They look a good bit tougher than they did a year ago.

Any good tips for a newly started player?

Bring the bussiness index down. You can do this by destroying all of the corps in that country. As well as lowering the countries employment index.

I would use ground troops. Cheap war. Mostly jeeps and a few artillery. I like to hammer them with jeeps untill the def amo runs out. Then I use my artillery. Works for me.

Search for articles by date, and you'll find some decent tips.

Myself, I just blow up the DH with AAMBs (I hate wasting time by using Jeeps. =]), Then take out all the corps with HA. Wait two months (2 months for some reason causes a lower war index than just 1), then take out the highest-populated cities. Sometimes just that does it, and sometimes you have to take all the cities, then town, then counties. I suppose you could also get some points by taking out forts if the country has any, but I mistreat my c3 slaves, so I don't bother. =]

-- The 30-minute C3 War ---

1) Take out DHs with AAMBs
2) Hit major cities with HA + jeeps until war index = 0

There's some cool timing tricks you can do, but we won't go into those now. :)

If you can pull that one, I salute you. But I think you can't. That's only 30 attacks. With C3 war index at 70 when you start the war, you need to drop it 2.4 each round. Major cities are capable of this, but there's not enough cities to do that. You'll have to rely on redraw, but in 30 min window I wouldn't.

Jeeps are useless for taking out bulidings. 10000 are just enough to score a little more than 1% of damage to capital. If you want to save some HA rounds on expense of several hours longer conquest, be my guest. Also draining ammo from C3 with jeeps is not much worth either. To drain DH ammo you need 22k of jeeps. This way you lose jeeps and ammo that would otherwise be yours.

A lot of players read BB. If they follow the tips about war, C3's are quite safe for now. I know war is a delicate topic to talk about, but if you don't have something usefull to say, than don't.
War guide on TNN is usefull to some extent, but needs to be updated.

No offense to anyone.
