Nice piece !! I'm in... just worried about the name bit as we will all have Matty at the end
We need to do something to get more players on board and helping them initially would be most beneficial there is always much to learn about this game as it changes all the time.
I find MSN messenger a better way to communicate but each to their own.

new here where do you find out your GDP? I assume you mean Gross Domestic Product, I cant find it?
P.S. You cant go by GDP what about the little guys, we need representation

Us little guys don't need representation. We will either be ignored in which case we are safe, or we'll be destroyed if we piss off someone bigger in which case .. we start over : )

Good points by all, glad to see there is still interest and positive points. The chairmanship, I do not want but I can start out with it just to create the fed and everyone send the country name they want to use so I can send the invite. Fed name will be Golden Council for now. It can be changed later. The low GDP players will have to be represented in some way. They are the ones we really want/need to expand their knowledge and grow. Once the country fed is established, then we can hammer out a way for the non-hybrid CEOs to be represented. The chairmanship can be decided after all Presidents are accounted for. (Kevin)

I will be happy to participate once I digest what has been going on. It seems like a very good idea in any case.
I appreciate some players mentioning me in such nice terms, but I am probably not the most appropriate "moderator" of any such council - because I have been deeply involved in GR politics and that might create an impression of bias no matter how disinterested I have become, and more importantly because I am not as active as such a moderator should be.
It's not a bad thing for the previous monolithic nature of GR federation power to be replaced by a situation where power is multiply distributed, assuming that it doesn't lead to the establishment of yet another all-powerful fed.

So are we going to split this up representatively by federation?
If so, I've done some homework, and have a proposal for the seat makeup.
Current Major Federation GDP rankings, as found here:
1 United Nations Alliance 63T
2 UN Security Council 58T
3 Erehwon PAC 50T
4 More Monkeys 49T
5 The Army of the Twelve Monkeys 45T
6 Allied Forces 40T
7 Global Pact 40T
8 TURAN 38T
9 mutual defence league 35T
10 Characteristics 32T
1 The Army of the Twelve Monkeys 36M
2 TURAN 30M
3 United Nations Alliance 28M
4 More Monkeys 26M
5 Global Pact 22M
6 Allied Forces 21M
7 UN Security Council 20M
8 Characteristics 19M
9 Erehwon PAC 17M
10 LYTO 12M
So if we average out those rankings we get:
1 The United Nations Alliance with an average ranking of 2
2 The Army of the Twelve Monkeys with an average ranking of 3
3 More Monkeys with an average ranking of 4
4 The UN Security Council with an average ranking of 4.5
5 TURAN with an average ranking of 5
6 Erehwon PAC with an average ranking of 6
7 Allied Forces with an average ranking of 6
8 Global Pact with an average ranking of 6
9 Characteristics with an average ranking of 9
*LYTO and the mutual defense league both only appear on one rankings list, so they can't have an average.
So it would go to reason that this is how we should hand out the seats. HOWEVER, many members of these feds are members of more than one fed, and some of these feds consist of only one or two members. Consequently they might get more seats than they would have unique members.
So to divide the seats (and this is the hard part) I've assigned each unique player to only one federation. The one he or she has the most countries in. I would post those results, but that's even more work and I'm tired. Maybe someone else with more time can do it.
Anyway, this is what I propose:
1 The United Nations Alliance receives 3 seats.
2 The Army of the Twelve Monkeys receives 3 seats.
3 More Monkeys receives 0 seats since it is an offshoot of 12M.
4 The UN Security Council receives 0 seats since it is a hodge-podge of other federations.
5 TURAN receives 3 seats.
6 Erehwon PAC receives 2 seats.
7 Allied Forces receives 2 seats.
8 Global Pact receives 2 seats.
9 Characteristics receives 1 seat, since it only has one member.
10 LYTO receives 1 seat.
11 mutual defense league receives 0 seats since its members are also members of above federations.
12 All additional, smaller federations would receive 1 seat.
I may have missed something. I got pretty lazy about checking these things towards then end and just went off of "common knowledge". Please feel free to question my seat arrangement.
In the meantime, that is 17 potential seats, leaving 8 open to major ceos, smaller feds, or influential presidents who wish to apply or are invited. Woop-de-doo.

Or we could just do it one seat per fed, to ensure that we have enough available seats for all the newer players. That one representative could relay any Council messages to the rest of their respective fed.
If we did it that way we couldn't really vote on things in any representative way and the Council would be more of a communication forum than a (for lack of a better word) judicial system.
