Hi Hector and all

I've been playing SC for almost a year now and my main fascination was always the economic side of the sim. I have managed to create a personal common market of about 700 fully upgraded companies across my 12 countries that nearly 100% services my main 2 countries and their companies. Was a lot of fun creating & was good while it lasted.

The war side is too quirky for me and I can't really be bothered rebuilding all the navy and NF just to have them blown away by another undocumented quirk or bug. On top of that, 12M will just come and ruin all my corps soon and therefore my main joy in the game will be dust.

Parting vent....
I still cannot understand how 3,500 seals got into my home port and took out 3/4 of my navy & airforce in one button stroke? Defences were over 150k DH, all my and my fed's navy, airforce, batteries etc..and the 12M attacking ship carrying the seals had been blasted to bits beforehand. Just doesn't seem right and way too simple.

There has to be a way that peaceful nations can defend properly against small incursions like that.

Webmasters, GR was advertised as a friendly game and it's turned into a war mongers game. The economic game and the war game have to be played 2 totally different ways. The nations concentrating on the economic game have no chance against war based nations. I'm frustrated at the way you have refused to fix defensive bugs, and allowed the warmongers to bring in as many countries as they like. Maybe you need 2 GRs, one more peaceful and one for the lovers of war, like the free worlds?

Now that's off my chest.. :)

Made a lot of friends and Elle has been a fantastic fed mate, thankyou. I'm taking a break for a while and maybe see you all down the track to see the game's progress.

Take care and cheers all

Treboria the easiest way to avoid a war is by not declaring, and as for bugs in the game they have cost me far more then 10k NF but i have just got to deal with that.

We dont plan on conquering any of your countries, and there wouldnt be any way we could destroy your corporations (without using stupid strat bombers which isnt planned)

Reread the doces quoted in this page.

Treboria, as matty stated in the oroiginal thred, we dont plan on conquering any of the amsller empires. You wualify as one of those, even though you declared on us. The only cuontries we plan to conquer (or die trying, or simply give up eventually maybe :P) are those in the erehwon PAC near us, and cyriacs countries on our borders as well.

it is possible to play for both. most of the empires involved have done this. Note the top economic and war ranks of erehwons countries.

I very strongly encourage you to reconsider.

if youd like peace, send us a set of treaties, and pull out of the battle.

yeah, one should remember that you declared on us, treboria...not vice versa.

we would not have declraded on you or other MDL members. Elle became involved becasue she chose to supoprt her allies. You made the same choice.

I am willng to neogtiate, though - but if you ask for peace, I ask that you are entirely peaeceful, and not involve yourself even indirectly.

Oops forgot to comment on that - your fleet was not killed by a quirk or undocumented feature. In fact, it was one of the few thigns that ive found ot be perfectly documented..for some reason, people didnt seem to pay that much attention though.

I just want to second What Avalon just said.

We do not intend to conquer anyone but the countries surrounding us. That's why they were the only countries we declared on. zodiac has accused me of lying about that in order to keep the GR world from attacking us en masse, but now you can see that isn't true. The GR world has already attacked us en masse, and look where we are.

Secondly, this was a completely fair fight. No bugs were taken advantage of (on our side). Our attacks could have been successfully defended against.

Finally, I think this war has so far been successful in its main goal. In the past two weeks the 12M have gained 5 new members, and I truly believe interest in the game as a whole has risen.

I only hope that a second superpower coordinates itself sometime soon and starts recruiting the new members as well.

The employment and business / trade index contribute 50 points to your war index. Your finance index determines how much you can spend. It is essential to be economically sound to fight effectively. Neither the economic nor the military aspect of the game is being pushed more than the other. They are both entwined. Countries who concentrate solely on either will fail.

Last post :) Don't get me wrong... The game is great and would love to keep playing it. My own personal priorities have changed and losing my carrier just made the decision much easier :)

Comments re the game are only my ideas of what I feel...maybe not even correct..

I have no ill feeling with anyone and even though am leaving, many more newbies are joining each day. Hoping to come back when life allows and find a huge thriving community. I reckon the owners of SC have created the best game of its calibre.
