hymyland II

I started playing Simcountry on KB, in August of 2001. Countries that I can remember owning in KB are hymyland, Ouch23, Yash, Freeland Dictatorship and Wayland. I tended to not change the names of inactives that I took, so some these coutnries had previous owners as well.

I started out in Federation TeamAnandtech, Then a faction formed FED-X Which I moved too. There was almost a world war with the KB UN, don't remember what about. It settled peacfully. That was before feds were limited in size, and may be the reason they are because that war would have involved almost 100 countries between the two feds.

But basically I have just played the game, and hung out the BB. I play more for the people than the game itself.

My favorite bug hands down was that you could change the name of private corps, because W3C hadn't thought to block it. You could just click on the corp in the map and type in a new name like it was any other target. My favorite Villain was Wolfhound, He was the original, and has yet to be outdone. He was very entertaining, too.

I came here because SKP slapped me around the continent of Auriga bella with a large trout. I lost most of my countries to SKP. (interesting trivia bit is that SKP Sun was one of mine.)

Anyway, Bored yet?

I'm PK, started on KB in Feb 2003 ... so just a youngster compared with you. Although had a pretty stong fed with Map Dominion and the gang. We all come from the website. Started playing GR in about June time (pre-country transfer which was a bit annoying).

From the UK, just trying to build the world's best corps, which are looking pretty good at the moment. So maybe I should have been a CEO .. nevermind too late for that now considering how much time I have spent on this game :o)

See you around

I don't know when I started this game but I won my first GC in November of 2002 with a CEO. I've had countries in all worlds but played mostly on WG and the others were captured by just about everyone and their brother/sister.

Mostly even on WG I just floated around never making much in the way of headway and thus never was real "serious" about doing so until Avalon needed some help and decided he would rather have the benefit of my defenses rather than go through me to accomplish his goal at the time.

Actually it was a better deal for me than him and even though I'm more than willing to argue some points of this game with him anything I have learned was either directly or indirectly the result of his tutoring.

I'll join in as well.

Well... I have been playing for about 8 months now. Can recall the exact date, or month for that matter. But i know its about 8 months now. =)

I have solely played in FB until about 3 months ago when I started playing in GR. I think I made my way up the ranks in FB just fine. It didnt take me that much time so I guess I'm proud of what I was able to achieve. Altho I never came close to what I intened to do. (DARN RESETS) =/

I have learned most of what I know from fellow fed mates and some other allies.

I havent really made any inpact as of yet. But my goal is to hopefully make a few dents in GR history.

My gf tells me i started playing SC in March 2002, but it seems like years to me. I made numerous posts on KB BB with country, Institution, which i quickly lost to the Syth after cracking the 40M pop mark. As well as losing my three other 20M pop countries & quickly built this slave up to 20M before transferring to GR. Unfortunately, this country was part of my market monopolization in the sand industry with 17 corps, though the infectious label is not doing so bad.

If someone will attack me we will see if i learnt how to defend a country with what i learnt from my wars with the Syth as i am not very offensive minded. I pride myself on economic mastery of the game and need to win an award this month to stay in GR...

Hmm im married, british, and came to simcountry around january 2002 with a small country on Kebir. After a friend told me she played here.

After a month or two i discovered my 4 million population country wasnt an ideal country so i started again, eventually joining up with groland etc in an eridana based federation.

Kebir was crowded, and FB seemed empty, so i started playing in FB. After much urging by matt (avalon) i eventually built up a small empire and spent my time mainly chatting to other players.

When FB became a shooting gallery, i found it was taking too much of my time playing and preparing for war (this is about a year ago). So i quit, took my single gold credit to GR which had a reputation for being quiet and sleepy and somehow managed to fluke a prize in my first month to keep me playing.

Since then ive been flicking between active and inactive (currently active) while constantly bugging w3 to introduce features that encourage roleplaying and player interaction (my main goal from these sort of games..i dislike wargames)

I'm a large bull elk from Norway, I'm kind of heavy, have thick hair and the elkess's tell me I have great antlers.

Have been playing simcountry since 1903, or mid 2002, I forget which. The game helps me to while away the long dull hours in the sub arctic tundra.

Most folks dont believe I'm a real elk, what with being able to type and speak English and all, but I'm kind of happy with that, as it keeps me out of the newspapers.

I started out in Kebir, got bored trying to get my 4 mil population country out of debt and decided to try my luck with the military aspect of the game instead. My first lucky break was being situated near to 'ShadowKahn Empire' in Auriga Bella, who had given up and was about to time out. The country had quite a bit of defence and a LOT of money (for that time), but as it wasn't shooting back at me, I could take my time and eventually capture it.

From then, without having to worry particularly about gaining game-cash I built my empire, mainly from C3's and very inactives, but with a couple of active player's countries along the way. eventually I got bored of the game and tried to leave, mainly dissillusioned by chasing Holy Reign half way across the world only for the guy to de-reg and reappear even further away from me.

I diposed of all countries apart from what became SKP, which I used to win the #1 prize in kebir for the month, and adopted my first 'penalty'.

After that, and I dont know why, I came back and grabbed a few new countries in my area before realising that the only way to make a real mark on the world was to do sth big, so I had a go at Hymyland. The bb's describe that encounter quite well. At the same time (quite amusingly) I was kicking Kebir's biggest multi (Ralph Nader) out of Auriga Bella, although I didn't know who he was at the time. After he hooked up with the other members of the Syth and they turned out to be quite ferocious, I was glad I had stomped him early. After that I was in GR for a bit and had a spat with Mr Ryto (the guy who put the Dick in Dictatorship) and left again.

I guess I was driven to GR for a second time by the resets and by some persuasion from Avalon, and although I still like Kebir better, it's kind of amusing here.

Last month's debacle with the #1 place (where I played a cheeky move, beat all the humans and then got stitched up by a laggy server) has kind of taken the shine off anything I can do here now , but whilst there are still the tail-ends of last month's wars to play with, I guess I'll stick around.

Damn, too much typing... time to find some nice moss to munch on.

Hi! My name is Matt (like many of the better players - though the other Matts are all actually better at this game than am I). I'm American but live in S.Africa at present.

I started playing SC in September, 2002, with my first country and CEO in WG. When I won a few gold credits, I started up in GR where I have been reasonably successful playing both countries and CEO.

So far, I have been lucky enough to actually run a profit playing SC. If I had the scratch to do it, I would quit playing and design a more realistic socio-economic and military game.

My name is also Matt, but I go by "Matty". I've been playing since February on WG and built up a pretty nice empire there. My main and ceo were called "MaBo". Up until a couple months ago my sole focus and pride in the game was the GDP / GDP per capita of my countries. I was the second-highest GDP-earning empire on WG behind Jinson before the resets.

The only truly active country I've been at war with was Erehwon's main in WG, which I took within a few days, put a few million more people and a 1m larger army in and then transferred. It's now known as "Grey 2"

Peomp (Avondale) approached me in IRC about joining a new fed in GR, and I accepted. Considering my new more military focus, all the military experts in the fed have taught me a lot.

I'm an ex korean cryptologic linguist for the U.S. Air Force, and am currently studying pre-law in Indiana. I'm also a Bush-hater. =]
