It would be very useful to be able to conduct a poll of all the active players in the game.
This could be used to simulate a deliberative body such as the real-world United Nations.
In its simplest form, a person could submit a question to be voted on, and each country would vote yes or no on it. If the vote got a majority of human-controlled countries, it would be considered to have passed.
The results of the votes would be stored so that the votes could be reviewed, and they would be stored under topics chosen by the person creating the vote. Examples might be: International Law: Trade Policies or International Law: Damage to Neutral 3rd Party Corporations.
This would enable the world to vote on what its members consider international law to cover.
A more complicated version would enable a vote to be voted on a per account or a per country basis or per CEO basis. The per-account basis would be useful when we want to distinguish between what "countries" want and what we, the real-life human players want.
If the vote allowed more than a simple yes/no response, then it could be used for polling your own customers in order to get them to prioritize the features that you are considering implementing.
For those aspects where simulating the United Nations is desired, the top 20 ranked countries could be given a veto power.

Wouldn't you like to be able to put out votes to the court of world opinion in this game?
This would give us that capability!
