The fleet range thing is something as well. Although I don't understand it, and so wouldn't have any idea of how to recreate it. Basically, sometimes your war page will tell you that an opposing fleet is off with its little fleet friends when it's really right off of your coast, so you can't attack it.

Something else I've picked up: how distorted the GR economy has become. If you look at it today:

1. Industrial Goods and Upgrades are in acute shortage.

2. Weapons are in big surplus.

Anyone who can add 1+1 can figure that one out: the mid-level countries are being taken out that would normally produce those goods.

Peaceful countries therefore can become the shock absorber in the GR economy: our corps can't get hit, so we'll continue to produce regardless.

How will we know which countries are peaceful?
Will there be a flock of white doves flying across?
Or, better still, they could have the choice of an Italian or French Tricoulour as their national flag.
I have just declared my country as being peaceful.

Some more points, more will be tomorrow or Monday:

45 strategic bombers should not be able to get through any 10.000 defensive airplanes or missile interceptors. This is already changed a little but we will test more on Monday.

If the defense attacks the Strategic Bombers, each bomber that is shot down, will not be able to use its load. These are different steps in the attack process and the defense is first. In ALL cases. Any problem you may see, has to do with how the defense assesses the attacking force.

We want to prevent shooting 10.000 missiles to stop one bomber. This will be a nice way to draw fire and have the defense use all its ammo.

The defense may have decided to use a number of weapons which is too small and this is what we need to look at.

Then, there are several rounds. Not all the participating weapons in the defense shoot at once and also not all the attackers.

Our intention was that Strategic bombers will be used in very small numbers and only when the defense is defeated. Large and small numbers in early stages, when the defense is in place, should be the first priority for the defense and should be shot down. Missile interceptors should be involved too to make sure nothing hits the ground.

Peaceful countries will show it on their home page, they will have a different color in the 300 list, will have their own awards list and will not be able to attack or declare war against.

I read about corporations and bases not showing on the maps. Maps are not repainted each game month. (takes too long). Sometimes there are small discrapancies between the map and info on the pages.

The differences should disappear. If a situation persists with the same objects on the map, please give us details. (country, corporation name, military base type etc.). There may be some error left in there. It is a very complex part with some record locking problems tha may result in inconsistent data.

We are puzzled over the market as you are. We suspect that there are "waves" of orders for products. Countries and corporations order materials for 10 months in advance. If 25% of all countries and corporations put orders for services in the same month, that is a huge amount. That may be followed by 4 months of only 5% of them ordering services. We don't know. It should have been a random process.

We intend to add history graphs to all product prices, demand and supply. when we have that, we all may look and see whether there are waves in orders. If this is the case, we can randomize it which is more realistic.

I do not want to do anything before the facts are visible. In the past we were unable to do all this because the server was overloaded even without history added and order sizes were even lasrger.

I'm not just saying that my base in Red isn't on the map. It isn't, but when I try to manually defend it, it isn't on my list either. And it's been that way for over a game year. Possibly two.

There are waves in the process of ordering oil. I used to have like 50 gasoline corps in hymyland V. And 95% of them would order oil in the same month. It boggles the mind. The chmical corps would order in the same month.

What I think happens is that when oil goes into shortage, all the gasoline corps go into lack of supplies and all their orders queue up. Then when the oil companies go back into surplus all the orders are filled at the same time.

Obviously this doesn't happen all at once, but slowly over a period of many shortage/surplus cycles the corps get synched.

Figuring it out is going to be a lot simpler than fixing it.

Economy Distorted by Ordering Waves?

50 and 150 day graphs of a sample of products available in that article.

I believe one of our developers has also graphed out price, demand and supply data for all the corps over the last 128 years in Golden Rainbow based on downloads of products data.
