Now if there were constant little wars, all these nasty surprises wouldn't be so surprising. =]

ill shut up whining, but found them months ago, reported them many times with lots of logs demonstrating their use. Didnt put them all on a public board..for various reasons.
Avalon convinced me they were fixed.
Ahh nm its friday and ill be in the pub within 2 hours ;-)

I swear, they were fixed!
The first thing I did after becoming active here again was test them all out. Not once, not twice, many many times. Everything tested out OK, in the exact same conditions. The only thign I didnt get to test to my satisfaction involved extremely long range attacks, and they arent extant. These were all completeted in a period starting shortly after w3c posted the fix, and ending when I went inactive again. I was completely methodical, honest (though I suppose I dont expect you to believe me )
and elle, if your husband thraatens to divorce you..get a laptop with wireless web access, or use a PDA with the same I found it to be handy!

I am a little confused as I am not really aware of the bugs due to my relative peaceful nature
Is it the bomber tactic I see being used by parties on both sides of the forming division line?
To mount 1 attack with 30 strategic bombers and a couple nukes knowing that they'll all probably be blown away, costs over $100 billion. And that is to hit 1 target (and sometimes I've seen it fail). Now consider it would take many dozens of attacks to damage a country severely the amount of trillions is staggering.
Compare that to the measly approx $20 billion of armaments needed to wage a whole war against a C3.
You'd never build a force of 1000 strategic bombers? At the moment sending a relative few may get through easily but the $$$ consumed ensures only those big enough could mount any sort of real damage using them, which to me seems OK.
You see many 10,000 jeeps being blown away...but at about $7 bill a 10,000 jeep loss sort of fades into insignificance. And they don't need ammo.
Even losing 10,000 Navy Fighters ($500 billion + $8billion for 40,000 missiles if all used) is a huge dent in anybody's fire power. But that is only 5 attacks with 30 strategic bombers.
Is the strategic bomber attacks a bug? I'm not so sure once the economic is taken into account.
If it is a bug and somebody explains why then I apologise for bringing it up on the BB. Lots of players use it. Unless you have some real big $$$ and time behind you it takes forever to create any sort of country destroying force of strategic bombers.

I have had similar thoughts, but 1) that is contrary to the way the game is published to work, and 2) its not just wrt strategic bombers. Apparently. If I understood more specifically, I would say more, but I dont.
My ex-fearless main had 1600 strategic bombers when I moved it to GR. It is certainly possible to build such numbers. your original thread. Note That your comments about conv. batts and navy fighters seem to be moot, as I noted.
I sometiems suspect that there is some root difficulty behind all such unexpected behavior, but I cant put my finger on it.

Thing is though treboria its not even remotely related to how the documentation claims it will work (maybee im a fool for reading it ;p ).
Plus if someone has a ceo with 999 strat bombers stored away and 900 hydro bombs stockpiled, thenthey sell it over short contracts to themselves it wont bother them that they go into negative trade balance for a while because they have enough to cover it.. hmm thats a messed up way of saying the cash doesnt matter ;p

you have just got to deal with the stuff this game will throw at you, if it worked the way the documentation said it does, it would be far to easy. i just lost 30 or so fully upgraded corps today to a bug, but that is life.

OK, I am finally emerging from working with my site survey team and we have identified a location for my new building! I am going to spend some time with my daughter, who I have not seen since Tuesday. But I will come to the office by this time tomorrow (Saturday) evening to get online and you will finally see some fireworks from Erehwon! Sorry for the inactivity, but thanks to those who gave me a bye and a hearty $#*&^@! to the others!

And by the way, I appreciate the reluctance of some players to exploit a bug. I too have large numbers of Strategic Bombers and Hydrogen Bombs, but do not intend to exploit the bug except where someone continues to do so against me or my allies.
