My thoughts go to the families of the British and Turkish victims of today's attacks in Istanbul.

By an odd coincidence I was visiting the British Trade Commission this morning to trade notes on security and admin issues, when the news came. It is a risky profession but British diplomatic missions have not been made into the sort of fortresses that American ones have become. It's a sorry thing that they will soon be moreso.

Yes it was really a sad day Matthew. Those mother******* will one day now that they can not intimidate the Turkish people. They can do everything what they want, but they can`t take Turkey from us. And Bin Laden can go to hell.

My condolences go to the families of the victims and the British and Turkish people.

Coverage of this event in America has been pitiful. It's rarely even in the news, pre-empted by the Michael Jackson "story" instead. I watch an hour of news coverage on MSNBC (major US news cable news network) each night and I heard nothing of this tragedy. I only found out about it after hearing the news on this board and looking it up on a foreign news service.

its all over the australian news networks though it is dieing down now. in australia we take the terrorist threat very seriously. so seriously that nabouring countries are condeming us because they say we are "pro" war. sometimes i just don't understand why these south asian countries don't like us we are just trying to help out the region.

anywayz back to the topic at hand yes very bad. a terrable and cowardly attack on inocents.
