Fallen soldiers will never experience the rewards that they have earned. That reward is freedom. Tuesday is "Veterans Day" in the US but to me it is a day for remembering all fallen heros, whether they be Ausie, French, Columbian, Africian, or any other soldiers that have died for their country in an effort to secure peace.

Thank you for the timely reminder, Ellie. I have made it a point to pay a visit to the soldiers' graveyards in the countries I find myself in November of each year. Looking up something about one of the GIs buried there makes a sharp counterpoint to the politics and reasons that still send young men and women far from home into danger.
