Pre-merger, forum posts were put in the correct order--first post on top, second post immediately below, etc, with the most recent post on the bottom. It made much more sense then, and it was much easier to read the forum then. After the merger, posts have gone in the opposite, counter-intuitive, direction. The example you cite here, Mr. Wonders, is simply an artifact of mixing the sensical organization of messages with the illogical organization of messages resulting in almost completely nonsensical organization of messages.
In other words, this is just typical w3creativity.
