This thread points out a few entertaining things.

This is a game of politics, economics and war tactics, in my book. You can be easily defeated if you overlook any those things.

"Finance is a gun. Politics is knowing when to pull the trigger."

The only CEOs who can really get away with being aggressive are backed by aggressive countries. CEOs should be used either as tools of strong countries, or should stay away from all active players.

Another thing this points out is that Corps are valued at levels that are too low. The cash that an unwilling seller receives is so low that sellers are always pissed off. I can understand how a noob would not understand this, it's really an ipmlementation problem.

Let me put it this way. It would be like if I had a brand new luxury car, and people could just walk up and bid on it. Let's say I like this car, and it makes me money every month. If somebody can bid 5 dollars and take my car from me, I am not going to be a happy camper. I am going to load the car with a bomb so it explodes in a few days. I am going to buy some nuclear submarines, some navy fighters, and hunt down and destroy everything having to do with the person that took my car from me, to make an example of them, so that others don't repeat that mistake.

But, on the other hand, if somebody were to bid 10 million dollars on a crappy little bike I had laying aorund, I would be more than happy to let it go.

Let's blame the system that sets corp values to low numbers, and the game features that allow hostile buys, not the pooor innocent noob.
