I am not suggesting that is a bad thing, or that it be stopped, just that adding an extra dimension would make it more intersting, and real.
As for adding costs, a flat rate is not realistic, but much simpler. Alternatively, a sliding scale based just on wether the countries are on the same continent. 5% for local, 10% if across an ocean. At the moment it doesnt matter if the country is next door, or on the other side of the world. Not realistic at all.
