It does tell you when corps close. It is in the local newspaper report on the main page. There are 2 reports, one on national, and one on international news. The national page will tell you which corp closed, why, and how many people were layed off. It will only show this report however for the month corp closed. You can go back threw the past year of newspaper reports and look for corp closing. I have never had a corp just dissappear, it either closed automatically, closed manually, or was destroyed.
Different Corps close at different levels of negative assests. This is based off what the potential of the corp is to actually make in terms of profits. A corp that can potentially make alot of money will stay open longer than one that has the potential to make no money. Some corps close at 200B+ debt, others at 500B+ debt.
