Is it true that corps *IGNORE* their monthly contracts when they calculate how much to buy on the open market?!!

I'm noticing that many of my corps have up to TWO HUNDRED months' worth of raw materials in stock when they have a local contract for those supplies, but what looks like never more than 12 months worth of stockpiled non-contracted supplies.

If this is the case it means that contracts are pretty much TOTALLY USELESS as far as I can tell.

I mean, after all, the whole point of the local contracts is, isn't it?, to get some of the economy internal and self-sufficient.

But instead, corps are just needlessly and foolishly driving themselves into bankruptcy. I've got a gasoline corp, for example, which is struggling to make ends meet, is amassing debts, and is loosing money as often as it is earning money in any given month, and yet it has gone and stockpiled 192 months' worth of services.

That's on the order of 2500000000 $E spent on stockpiling a good beyond one year's supply, and a good for which it has a guaranteed monthly supply from a local contract.

Is it just that the corps *want* to stockpile up to 20 years worth of raw materials or something and that this out-of-control purchasing (and concommitant driving-themselves-deeper-into-debt) will eventually settle down?...

It certainly would be nice if you could specify the number of months worth of each good for each coorp to stockpile!! That would, for example, allow you to stockpile more foreign-produced goods and less locally-produced goods, etc.

But, in the interim, if something could please be done about this insane quantity of automatic stockpiling. It's necessary to have that automation, especially if one isn't checking the corp every day, but what's the point of such automation if it simply drives the corp into flagrantly unnecessary purchasing and needless debt?!
