''states have no principles, only interests.''

^^ this seems pretty close to the (non-philosophical) foundations of anarchism to me. I also rather agree.

I think mercs/anti-mercs could exist in simcountry, despite hymy and anton's colletive scorn. Not all the big powers like each other, and amongst those that do, not all are averse to fighting people they like -quite the contrary.

That said, obviously the limits would have to be removed in some way or another to make such a thing possible. Invincible is invincible no matter how you hash it , essentially dividing the world into 'marks designed to be abused and farmed' and 'untouchable scenery.'

I volunteer my services as fearless anti-merc. if the knights dont take to hiring out to protect players, I would....except

1) to a limited extent (the limits being defined by my time and activity, not my will) Ill provide the same services for free: anyone small who wants to is welcome to shelter beneath any of my countries in fed protection, provided they are in range AND continue to make an effort to build an army over time, after they have been protected awhile -they can start out weak, but must eventually be strong (at which time theyll be invited to leave my protection)

and
2) Obviously, anyone cheating will not only not be protected, but probably actively hunted - again limited by time.

If someone would like to take on a role as cheater-hunter (and is able to convince me that theyll stick to their job over time), then I can provide them with a country possessing a top 3 ranked army on FB, a reasonable (by my standards, probably very large by most standards) store of ammo, and a developed 30M+ pop economy.
This is as reasonable a place to mention that as anywhere.

hymy, this is a game :)

Ive always suspected that you and I have rather definitions for "game", or that youve never really considered SC a game as such.

I think describing BKs actions as morally bankrupt is a bit extreme. To me they seem *morally* more or less equivalent to buying potatoes in SC. This may sound incredibly Moronic to you, but I think that trying to explain my point of view would do nothing but waste both our time, so ill skip the attempt.

I reiterate my offer of assistance to Yeong woo. I assure you, it is most sincere - probably more sincere, and with more solid in-and-out-of-game resources backing it, than anyone else who might offer you such a thing. itll stay open for a real week or so, after which time I will probably stop looking and remove the options. Good luck in any case.
