If instead of whining you lot had sat down and thought this through, you would have made a profit out of this little scenario.

As soon as Treasurer posted, i long-term loaned all my Empire cash to get it out of the way. Then i put up many GC at extortionate prices, expecting there to be crazy panic buying of them. I was right.

The only thing that has changed is the practicality of having huge cash reserves. What can you do with 100T that you can't with 20T? In the time it takes to spend it, you can sell more GC and never have to stop, especially if the value of game money is increased.

There are still a few routes to store assets.

1. GC which is what W3C want, and i can see no problem in having a game run this way - you do not carry your bank account in your pocket, but use a credit card.

2. Military assets. These are untaxed and usually in a constant state of demand. Channel your money into them, and you can sell it for cash when needed.

3. Loans. I know the loan market is not as profitable as it was a year or two ago, but if you can get a substantial amount of cash out - as Parsifal stated, corporations are taking increasing amounts of loans, then it is a good way to hide cash from the SC financial service taxman.

4. Game products. Whilst not so common, you can always use your excess cash to buy up huge amounts of game products. Do this when the product is in surplus. It keeps your cash out of the way, and when you need money, sell it, preferrably at a higher price than that which you paid.

By posting this i am effectively ending the profit i can make from this situation, but what the hell lol. A few tips to stop the panic. Dub.
