what makes a player good? his ability to select the right corps to make a profit? his ability to wage a victorious war? or his ability to use the game mechanics to make his country perform better?

I believe it's all those reasons and more. you should make a profit with your country so you can afford to creat high index's and support a strong military. how does one go about doing that? my useing the game mechanics to his or her advantage. is it unfair for one player to with hold all production until prices are at a high level so he can make more money? sounds like a good buisness practice to me.

not according to w3c and a few players. they seem to believe that everyone should make or break thier corps by selling when the market says it's time to sell. limited to one years worth of reserved inventory and only if the market is in demand. forget the fact that your more than likely going to sell your valuable goods at a price that adds up to a loss of revenue.

what I'm talking about is weapon corps. is it unfair of me to hold many years of weapons in reserve, then sell them in one bunch to one of my countries? keep in mind that the corps turn no profit during that time and rack up hundreds of billions in debt. forget the fact that the country or CEO makes no money off the deal. forget the fact that the country ends up paying tons of money at once for the weapons they want or need. no, remember only that market value of the corp happens to jump to a hundred billion or so for a very limited time.

look around to today, look to see how many players are victoms of an unfair war. how many players in the top ranks reached that spot by useing game mechanics in an unfair manor? not very many by my count, and not very many have done it in the past. only a few smart players invested the time and enery into creating weapon corps for the sole reason of supplying thier countries. not many players use game mechanics to generate score. look at the ranks for FB, all three top players dropped score to avoid the top spots. a vast majority of players don't even bother with creating score.

add to this spending limits, transfer limits, price limits, population limits, and many other limits and you have very limited ways to keep this game interesting. on top of all that, civil unrest created to keep your index's in line with everyone elses.

bottom line is this: your country will be the same as everyone elses. your options will be limited, and your ability to out pace everyone else will be limited. forget about creative game play, because by the time w3c and unskilled players are done making retarded changes you will not even be able to change the name of your country.

the game is becomming a joke and will continue to, unless countries are forced to reset and restrictions are removed.
