i agree that there a few species that kill their own, but we humans do it with such gusto. in the 20th century, we killed nearly 250million of our own kind in wars and genecides. notice how that figure just rolls off your tongue. i two am from Texas like me friend Johanas. we, in Texas pride?? ourselves in executing more people than any other country in the world. do we have a low crime rate? hell no. infact Texas incarcerates more people than any country in the world and Houston incarcerates more people than any city in the world. as far as my own beliefs about the death penalty, i'm conflicted. i know it doesn't act as a deterant. but with some people, there is no hope of rehabilitation and the cost of keeping someone incarcerated for life without parole is terribly costly. the problem of crime and violence i America is systemic and historical, but if we ever hope to live together on this planet we better figure this out pretty quick. otherwise.....
