Switzerland? Lived there for a year. Very strange place.

You can be fined 10CHF (about £5) for crossing the road if not at a crossing.

Everybody has access to a nuclear bunker (that would have been a good year for nuclear war for me) and most cities have hospitals that are duplicated underground but not used "in case".

Most things are decided by referenda - to the point where you can be asked by your local commune whether they should place a lamppost on the street halfway across town!

This excessive democracy has its drawbacks (aside from the grumblings of my Swiss friends "15 votes this month! What do I care about lampposts?") - the last stage of becoming naturalised is a vote in your commune. White Europeans are about the only people who ever manage it. Sadly, it can be tyranny of the majority.

Damn good public transport though.
