to touch on what preist said, oregon and california have a magor problem, more than half the voting population lives in LA or Portland, both city are exceptionally liberal, where as when you get out of the urban areas, you find the people are very conservative...

so being being from "Jefferson State," i can point out that the general way the sac and salem run things aren't the way that most people actually want to see things done, but they have to put up with it do to the amazing voting power of a few populated regions.

if you look at recent presidential elections, you'll see that allot of states where carried by one or two heavily populated counties...

i'm all for magority rights, minority rules. but it seems the bigger the "government" becomes, the less likely my veiws are reflected in it...

redividing the united states would only speed that process, for a few extra dollars, that i wouldn't see...
