when two militaries clash, they always form a frontline. thats how war works. it doesnt mean you must have trenches or something similar to define it. you dont even need military units to defend it. the line that separates attacker controlled territory from defender defines it. what happened in iraq is hardly considered to be a war. the strong guy is simply beating the weak.
i agree with John, that army passing through whole country to attack most distant target would be intercepted by military units it encounters on their way in real world. but John, this isnt a real world. it is a simulation of one (good or bad). the change you are after wont happen. too vast to implement at this moment. try again in few years.
