Front Lines are not a major development on the modern battle field anymore. with all the hard work being done by the airforce and missile commands of the military. how many battle lines have you seen develope since WW1 or 2?

Iran-Iraq in the 1980's is the first example that comes to mind. How many wars have there been since WW1 or 2 that weren't asymmetrical in nature, thus making guerilla tactics unnecessary? And why couldn't the United States capture Baghdad on the first day of the Iraq War? The answer is that though a front line is more malleable, there are still safe and unsafe zones to travel in a conventional war; supply lines especially necessitate having secure areas. My problem is that my 10000 tanks *can* go anywhere in a country, and if the air force is out, can strike nearly anywhere with near impunity. That is definitely not the way the world works; to get to a far away place a force must clear that which will take potshots at it or destroy it outright on the way.

Simcountry isn't only about mismatches and guerilla warfare. In fact, most of the weapons are confined pretty well to conventional warfare.

Partial Occupation like when you take one country out of an empire? or only a few countries in a federation? hmmm, whens the last time that's happend?

Like when there is an active resistance movement fighting to retake de facto control of a country from inside it. (Not an air force or missiles from another country. ANOTHER COUNTRY, I think, is all I need to say.)
