I agree. AirLand battle doctrine proved itself in 91. I was unaware the Israelis were such important contributers. I understand exactly what you mean about the contradictions within the IDF. That universal sense of mission within the ranks was one of the things that impressed me most. I got the distinct impression that a junior NCO there could and would lead a company if required or continue to fight alone. That attitude is common within our SpecOps community, but to see it literally everywhere in the IDF was reassuring.
I may safely assume then that you are up to speed on the real situation with the Palestineans? Hard to fault the Israelis much when you get the whole story of the conflict.
