The idea of Solar Plants in the Sahara desert does not persuade me. It doesn't seem reliable.

Europe here is. The Sahara is there. How would energy be transport? Surely not through cables. Energy losses and susceptibility to the whim of Northern Africa - look what they did at Shell yesterday - is a big down side.

If you are using the Saraha as merely an example, the tax cuts and the incentives given really have boosted solar energy at a domestic level.
Not sure how it is around the EU, but most of the public buildings that have been built or reconstructed have solar panels here. Same applies to some sectors of tourism.

Someone should compare the Energy and Renewable Energy policies - they are two distinct policies - of the EU and of the US now.
I am of the opinion the EU-12 has moved to the next step of the Post Industrial Age and that the difference relies in the Energy policies.
