'As nations prosper, concern for the environment will follow in due course.'
But as nation's become poorer, what happens then?
Do you not think it is everyones right to be able to enjoy Nature like I think you have?
Remember when you were a kid and that first moment of wonder when you saw that butterfly flutter past?
Or how it felt when you caught your first fish?
Can you imagine what your life would have been like without Nature?
Would you want your future generations to be without those moments of true freedom?
And NO FarmerBob, building a pond and a butterfly farm on your land wont be the same as true freedom.
I do understand where you are coming from though and if everyone respected nature like you do then we would'nt be in this mess. But I truely think you grossly underestimate what we have done to our future's enviroment.
It is also not realy your fight. You walked down the path of life that was shown to you. There was no fear about the damage that was being done because you did'nt know about it.
But we do and like you I will not surrender my moral judgement on what has to be done to ensure our future generations have true freedom.
Once I know for a fact that they will not suffer from our actions I will settle down and enjoy life. Until then "Oh no not you again" I will endeavour to endure.
Thats only on an enviromental front my son's.
We have too much in common for me to be Anti Yankie in any other sense.
