Standard Oil is failing! Currently they are actually trying to open new wells in Arkansas. This demonstrates the differance between oil companies rather plainly! Where Standard would pump a well dry and then keep pumping, plus they did not open and then cap wells prior to 1978; whereas the other major companies would only pump so much from a well then recap it and also opened drilled, then capped hundreds of well heads. Given what standard is now doing I have devested myself of their stock while the devesting is good, it worked for a while, but in the long run the strategy is a loser because of the cost of having to drill all new wells. Can you say 10 dollar a gallon gas?
