There is no limit as to what one can accomplish with many good ideas. MS-DOS isn't the only thing that Bill Gates made you know. Microsoft is responsible for Windows, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and a plethora of other things. The combined contribution of these or improvements on previous ones to the economy amount to far more than simply the money Bill Gates has earned. Would he have gone any further than MS-DOS if he knew that he had surpassed a government decreed limit on wealth and could earn no more. Would he have brought together other software developers and been willing to pay them. I think not.

Let us say that in your economy someone has a brilliant idea. Let's call it the Hovercar. So a man invents the hovercar and decides to produce it, he pays worker, buy equipment from other companies that also have paid workers. In five years, he hits a cap on the profit he is allowed to make. Why then would he continue to produce this hovercar? The engineers and workers that were paid to create and design it go without jobs, the companies that contracted production to the hovercar factory must scale back production and lay off workers or find a new buyer. Those consumers that have not yet purchased one are unable to do so. This means that for the total economy the GDP has dropped, unemployment has risen, and the hovercar technology has stagnated.

It is the responsibility of individuals to pay for healthcare, which is not terrifically expensive and is usually a benefit from employers. The main problem is rising healthcare costs associated with overcaution exercised by hospitals for fear of lawsuits.

Long story short, it is not the government's job to tell people how to spend or make their money. This is the FREEDOM of the individual. Freedom of economic decisions is just as valuable as freedom of speech. Should I pay for other's healthcare if I do not wish to?
