Davepat if you knew anything about what you were talking about I'd be more inclined to at least take you seriously...but you don't.

I don't even really think you know what socialism really means.

To say MS makes the best operating system is a joke. Vista is a joke, and they spent hundreds of millions developing it. There's a reason Apple's adds are successful. They're true. The only reason everyone uses Windows is because it's incompatible with other OS's. Since it's already #1, it stays there perpetually because it's almost IMPOSSIBLE for anyone else to enter the market. How would a software developer convince say, Dell, to use their operating system when they know that every single other computer outside of Dell would be using Windows?? Don't be dumb. People have two choices. Apple, or MS. I hate MS but I choose Windows because I don't want to have to struggle to find Apple compatible software.

Also, the cost of living is higher in big cities, not socialist cities. I don't know how in the world you could have possibly come up with the idea that socialism increases the cost of living, but New York is the biggest city in the US and thus is one of the most expensive places to live.

This, however, was my absolute favorite quote:
"The US standard of living is behind a few other countries now. The more socialism we impose the more this standard will decline."

The US standard of living is ONLY behind countries that are more socialist than them. Look into it. Canada is much further left of the USA. Its standard of living is higher. Canada's economy is growing. The USA's is shrinking. The rich are richer in the USA, but the majority of Canadians are richer than the majority of Americans. Somehow you've failed to convince me that it's a bad thing.
