I think that we must be talking/writing at cross purposes.

I have been under the impression that the open market works like this.

1. The order of sales is based on price. When goods are trying to be sold at the same price, the higher quality goods are sold first. I base this on the observation that my upgraded corps sell out of a product before my new corps producing the same product, but selling at the same mark up.

2. The order of buys is based on price alone and qualities are not matched. I based this on the probablity of enough 100 and 190 quality goods being available to fulfill player orders.

3. To make enough 100 and 190 quality goods available, I assume that there must be some computer "magic" at work which transforms the goods into the desired quality. Meaning when I buy 100 quality aircraft fuel, that purchase may have been pooled from a bunch of corps at a variety of qualities.

I just do not see a difference (if the above is correct) between buying on the open market and a common market. I also do not see how to take advantage of the profit loophole, because I think that it is happening all of the time. It is my "magic."
