I would also like to add here a thought for our British friends.
The one great failure of Ronald Reagan's presidency, in my view, was his submission to domestic politics and failing to support England in her conflict over the Falklands. I may say that as a US Army officer at the time, many of my colleagues and I were heartbroken over the losses suffered by the Royal Navy and those brave Paras. One carrier group could have averted those casualties and I regret that my nation did not do its greatest ally justice and provide the support you deserved from us.
