I'm afraid that you're wrong there Coen. This discussion is about political and economic theory applied to modern America with historical data for argument. DavePat is entirely correct in his analysis. Socialism is defined as government ownership of the means and production in the classic marxist model, but has and does exist as government control of the means of production in national socialism, which has generally been attempted by "right wing" governments. You're statement was was overly simplistic and inaccurate.
