Defensive RDU? That would be one hell of an expensive weapon to have stationed all over the place in the numbers needed.
My thoughts on defense remain the same as when I mentioned a Defensive RDU. Instead of having units randomly deployed and defending only certain targets make them more mobile. Say the defensive priorities were how much of your RDU forces responded to an attack against a target, much like the defensive air force. That would make them plausible and useful. No way in hell anyone is going to buy and station enough of them to cover anything if they cant move around due to the costs involved with them.
