I used to really like this game. Really, I did. Despite that, I will be leaving the game shortly. There are problems with the economic engine (I ought to be able to offer contracts at any price within reason. The world market is easily manipulated). There are problems with the cash market (What do you mean I spent all my gc's? It says right here that I have some. Why can't I buy any game cash? I can't sell the population I offered b/c I don't have enough game cash?). There are major problems with the war engine (NF and NH can't attack factories, drones kill Ints, no offensive sharing within a fed, attack quantity limits, number of attacks in a given amount of time, defensive batteries with infinite range, regroup algorithm for auto defense, attacks near resets, etc., etc., etc.).

It's virtually impossible now to play in a truly cooperative manner without abusing bugs in the world market, or the like. For a long time it's been impossible to play in a competitive manner. No one wants the top spots b/c of the freaking huge award penalty. Warlords can't effectively attack each other because it's too simple to get invulnerable defenses. If you can't play cooperatively and you can't play competitively, what's the point in playing?

I will be sticking around for a little while to see what strands of cooperation I can find remain. I will see if there is anything I can do to aid some friends that are fighting a stronger addiction than I am. I am almost free after over two and a half years. If that isn't masochism, ... *shakes head*
