The hole in the ozone layer is a yearly fluctuating event. During the summer in the southern hemisphere it expands, and over the winter it recovers, the UV light allowing for the formation of O3, Ozone. The fact that it is amplified by human activity is presumptuous at best. The concern that people should focus on is global warming. This too is a naturally occuring event. Technically, the earth is still recovering from an iceage, as throughout most of it's history it's had no ice caps at all. The concern is the fact that the warming is being accelerated by human activity; greenhouse gasses and the such. It is this accellerated change which is the problem, as the earth's ecosystem has no time to adapt. That's when disaster occur. That is the problem which need sorting. But what do you do about a problem which is already there? You can't treat the cause, as it's too late for that, and you can't treat the effects because we don't have the means.
