I disagree.
Im glad you added "imho".
"...still has the most effective political system, the greatest economic potential and flexibility, and the culture of freedom."

If a body that allows a warmongering IDIOT to go on a self fulfilling rampage *spending* hundreds of lives in the process is "the most effective" then i can hardly bare to think of what could possibly be worse.
At this very moment in time i would say with total confidence that *China* has the greatest economic *potential*. Despite being inhabited for the better part of 3000 years it still has absolutely vast reserves of natural resources, greater than your own which as yet have been mostly untapped because of the way that the US came into existence... On the backs of the european countries who supported it.
So all those prisoners being kept without trial experience a "culture of freedom" do they? They might be suspected of terrorism, may even BE terrorists, but they are only fighting for a cause they believe (or have been brainwashed by their religious leaders into believing) to be just and righteous. In my opinion, terrorists who have taken part in acts of terrorism against an innocent civilian population are LESS than human, and deserve to be shot. But unconvicted people are another matter. Does your government really have that little confidence in its legal and intelligence system? Im sure if it had more confidence then it could convict anyone of anything with only a morsel of circumstantial eveidence. That however is only a side note and im sure happens elsewhere in the world too.

In short, you only believe yourselves to be superior. It is this smug attitude that is the root cause of all the hatred felt towards the US from all over the globe.

If you are not a US citizen then read "you" as "the US" or whatever fits the sentence. ;).
