Introducing "natural resources" for countries and regions. Status: will be added

Detailed Description:

Countries should have specific resources; it is not at all realistic that any country can produce oil and have all the mining it wishes to have. One of two degrees of natural specialization can be introduced into the game:

  1. Each country can have a set of industries it cannot produce at all due to unavailability of necessary natural resources (wool, meat, and dairy products one group; oil another; etc).
  2. Each country can produce specific products more easily than others, thus more cheaply.

I think this is very important to simulate real life:

  1. Real wars are not usually waged to get more manpower (this can be done by using your CEO to build corps where the population is) as it is done in SimCountry, but for getting more resources, especially ones the attacker cannot produce.
  2. Trade in the real world exists not because countries cannot live without each other (which is the case in SimCountry) but because I can produce this cheaper than you do and you can produce that cheaper than I do so I give you some of this and you give me some of that. [Concept of absolute and comparative advantages in international trade].

What really pisses me off is that other much less developed strategy games have this concept and that SimCountry doesn't. If we have it, feds would really function, wars will have a meaning and real interests will be at stake. THIS is real world simulation.

We agree and we see this as a high priority. We have already promised to introduce natural resources before and will try to move it up our priorities.
