Detailed Description:
I propose that there should be a wider variety of disaster events to give a more realistic sense of a dynamic planet and the possibility of more than one country becoming affected by the same disaster event. There could be more geological events such as volcanos, and landslides as well as occasional tidal waves resulting from earthquakes. Also, extreme weather events such as hurricanes, tornados and floods should be considered. Please vote yes or no for this proposal. Thanks

The disasters we already have are part of an extensive feature that can handle many more types of disasters and their results. We have not activated most of it.
The reason is that for many, disasters turned out to be arbitrary events that hit them and cost them a lot in terms of population, destroyed corporations and reconstruction cost.
It looks like we are just causing them a financial damage. The system shuld be improved to pose a challenge instead of just causing damage. If the reconstruction time and quality can be a measured and followed by an award, it could be more of a challenge. We will look into it.
